More recently, I saw a post about a burial monument which is feared at risk of damage or destruction because of the unrest in Mali. Today, I read that the authorities in Nouakchott want citizens to reserve their grave sites ahead of time, and for a fee. It is important to note that Mauritania has the highest land area per capita in the world, and one of the lowest levels of income.
